Hey guys,
I know you can use a wired numeric keypad as a remote for the bot but i'd like to use something else. On my machine with mach3 i have an inexpensive usb game pad that has 12 buttons, two joysticks and a 4 way directional pad. I could try to use a key grabbing software and simply program the keys on the pad to correspond with the keyboard. Trouble is, i don't want any software to interfere with SB control software at work.
Has anyone been successful with alternative remotes?

I use a Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 as well. Works perfectly with the 'Bot and is really easy to setup.

Randy,
If you have an iPhone you can use the ShopBot Remote app.
You will also need a wireless router to interface between the phone and the computer.
I can't remember what I paid for the app but it was wickedly inexpensive.
I used an old wireless router I had lying about.

The Rumble pad comes with a CD that has the drivers and setup files. If you search there is a file here that is all ready to load.

here are a couple files i had, not sure where i got them.
i think you have to install the software that comes with the rumblepad then put these in one of the folders and it is key assignments.

Thanks guys.
I usually get the cheaper radioshack control pads for my machine so wanted to make sure. Thanks for the files jack i'll have to poke around if the powers that be let me set it up. I also don't trust wireless when it comes to a machine whether its an Iproduct or wireless control pad. Besides, i'm not buying an I pad for work and they wouldn't do it either. I refuse to use any kind of apple products. Heh.

Never had an issue with the wireless connection on the Rumblepad which is more than I can say for some keyboards I've tried.
It's the only wireless item I have on my PC these days and it's worked flawlessly for three years now.
