Calling all old timers (at least back to 2000). I'm looking for a font that was used in a small text v-carving program from way back. It only had two fonts in it (I believe one of them was called Childs, I need the other). It's NOT 'Typsetter' or 'Vfontz', it was called something else. I used to have the program saved, but I'm pretty sure it's on some old harddrive that is buried in storage now if I have it at all. I've got someone that wants something made now that was done with it way back then. Anyone out there recall what I'm talkin' 'bout?
Could it have possibly been made by Bruce Clark? Not sure.
Thanks guys.

Wow, am I the only one that ever used this little program? ;) I'm going to have to go on a hunting expedition on some old hardrives I guess.

That was the old Typesetter tool that I think Bill Young wrote? If anyone has an OLD version of the SB control software it should still have Typesetter under the Tools menu. I tried downloading the old DOS version but it won't load on my Windows 7 machine. Someone at Shopbot should be able to answer this for you. Try e-mailing or calling tech support. If they don't know the answer, they must have an old computer setup they can look it up on.

No, it wasn't typesetter of Bill Young fame. It only used two fonts and was much more difficult to work with than typesetter.

I was thinking typesetter only had 2 fonts
I don't remember Bruce doing a v-carve utility, but remember his dos tiff converter real well
thats too long ago now, I'm afraid I've gotten rid of my old old dos and win 3.1 stuff now, I just hung on to that junk way too long as it was ;)

I went and grabbed a hard drive from that era and realized it cant be plugged in now, have to get and adapter.
I remember typesetter and vcarvze, I dont remember Bruce doing anything with carving, there was something with the first vector product besides vcarvze..

On a whim I googled Font Matcher and voila, maybe one of these choices would find it for you or offer what fonts are closest? I never tried any of these though.

Dug out an old hard drive and hooked it up with a little help from and adapter and there it was.
Ok, it was called Typesetter, but not the one of Bill Young fame. ;) It was called Tesarna Typesetter v1.1 with Childs and Auriol fonts. These fonts are from the CD-ROM and Book '24 Art Nouveaux Display Fonts' from Dover Publishing (out of stock now).
For a "Blast from the past", attached is the program. It actually works just fine in Win 7. Go ahead, make a sign. ;)

Yes, Vfontz and Vcarvz! Wow, those were the days of hair pulling, fist pounding and looking at the monitor or watching the machine and asking "Why are you doing that!", "I didn't tell you to go there!", 'Stop it!", "Where did that come from!".....
We've come a long way baby! ;) Thank you, thank you, thank you Vectric! :)

Yes, things are very, very different now. At least I remembered that it was called Typesetter.
