After d/l'ing some file transfer apps for my ipad and other stuff where the pc and the ipad communicate my pc is waaay sluggish now. I tried to go to
start/config.exe to see what pgms are running in the background so i can turn some of them off. Is that the right pgm to do that with? I can't seem to make the pgm come up though.
Yes, i've already rebooted a few times to refresh memory however when i restart some of those apps restart also.

Jack,
To check which apps are running, press the button on the front face twice. A row of icons will slide up at the bottom of the screen. press and hold on one of those icons. They will start to shake and there will be a red circle with a line through it at the top of each icon.
tapping the circle will close the app. Most apps are pretty benign but any that use gps are memory and battery eaters.

David,
I'm sorry i didn't make myself clear:o what i meant was that after i have downloaded some file transfer apps (like Airdrive) for my ipad which had a pc componnent that you had to install on your pc. So it is my pc that is running slow not the ipad. Sorry for the confusion:confused:
btw i learned the jiggling icons trick in ipad class last week!:D
i thought that the pgm config.exe brought up the pgms that was running on your pc but i can't access it by going to start/typing config.exe

Trying hitting ctrl-alt-delete at the same time. Tht should get you to task manager. From there you can see what is running.

Perhaps you're thinking of msconfig.exe?
