I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could offer some advice for my latest idea. I've been using a 2010 PRS Standard with PC Router with low hours and it is in really good shape. Today, I went and bought a 2008 PRS Alpha with Spindle and Air Drill:D The goal with buying this Alpha is to increase accuracy on some intricate parts I've been making.

I've observed that the 2010 PRS Standard has a nicer frame/chassis with some extra supports and what appears to be a nicer YZ car. Is it possible to take all of the Alpha motors, control box, and spindle and mount on the PRS Standard frame/chassis?

I've done some research that has led me to believe it's possible, but I wanted to make sure that their wouldn't be any hiccups because of the difference in year models on the 2 machines.

Thanks,
Paul

Doesn't sound so nutty to me. A call to SB would be the quickest and most accurate answer, but I don't think there would be a problem.

Check to see that the motors bolt up the same and allow for adjustment into the rack. Rack should be the same. Just a whole lot of wire swapping to do.

Paul...
Good on ya! Mate the strongest motors with the strongest frame. Doesnt sound funky to me, as I would do the same. Motors are interchangeable.

If you have any other questions, post here or email me at work

Thanks guys. I'm excited about "hotrodding" my bot:D I've got a large job to finish over the next couple of weeks then I'll start the swap. I'll try to find a camera to take some pics (I dropped my camera in the shop last week and it's not wanting to turn on)

I dropped my camera in the shop about a year ago and had to sweep it up. You would think that all that sawdust would make a good cushion. :D Good luck on the swap.
