Hey guys,

I'm looking for an adhesive to bond wood to acrylic on an edge lit sign.

Any suggestions?

Randy

Silicone works fine.

We tested silicone but it wont hold up. When i milled the 1/4" black walnut on the surface of the larger sample we made, it just popped off. That was glued with the silicone adhesive we normally use for acrylic and was also vac bagged. One of our guys did some research and came up with a solution. It's being tested as we speak. It's a combination of MEK and another adhesive. The initial tests show that the wood will splinter and tear before the joint comes loose. We've got a couple control, a couple in the freezer and a couple in the kiln over the weekend. Thanks for the suggestions.

I would say if you dont need translucent 5200 will hold forever and remain pliable allowing for different expansion rates. It comes in black and white.
