I have a model 718 Woodmaster planer. I am still on the original set of planer blades. I have had them re-sharpened a few times, but they are about out of their useful life. Does anyone have a good source for buying new planer blades? These are 18-1/2" x 11/16" x 1/8". I never really thought that the grade of steel in the originals were very good. It was so easy to get a nick in these blades. I want to upgrade the steel quality and Woodmaster only sells the one type. Any suggestions on steel grades?

I would love to buy a carbide insert head from Woodmaster, but $1000 is a little too rich for me.

I had a machine that had the esta system or dispoza blade system on it.
They offer holders for different size machines and once installed blade changing is pretty simple.
Knives are double edged and they also have cobalt blades.
