I bought this used a while back, and am having a great time with it. However, it is now screaming when the y axis moves. (It is not the router, the router is turned off...) It is a very high pitched squeal that happens.

I assume it is one of the four v bearings that hold the router assembly. These would be the bearings that ride the track on the y axis grooves.

Is it the bearings? They are the only moving parts when I move the y axis back and forth, other than the stepper. (I hope its not the stepper motor...)

What type of bearings are these, and where do I get them? I searched the forum, but cant seem to find anyplace where they are listed.

THANKS so much for the help.

Hi Perry,

The PR tools used patio door rollers. It looks like we only have 3 left in stock, so if you need more than that you should be able able to find them at your local hardware store.

Thanks for the reply Frank.

But no, these are the ones on top of the Y carriage. They are the vgroove ones that cut the groove into the metal. I assume you have those? I did replace the ones that were on the bottom of the x, those were the slider door ones. These are sealed v groove bearings on the top though, right?

Hi Perry Welcome to the fourm , it sounds like you have the "Bishop Wisecarver #2 wheel " You can get these from Shopbot , or on the internet , take one vee wheel off and look at side of wheel to ID it .

Frank, my apologies. Once again you were right. It's one of the bottom ones that is squeling. I picked up some at Ace, so ready to go.

SORRY I doubted you!

THANKS again for your continued support of my little hobby.
