need a vacuum tube model...

Hello botters...
I am in need of a vacuum tube model for a piece of wall art celebrating technology... I have found some nice 3d representations but when rendered in foam just show the glass envelope. I figure I will have to use something stylized but am unhappy with what I'm coming up with... any suggestions are welcome!

You might want to "round" the tube rather then have a flat with 90 degrees sides.

create a round shape and then carve your filaments on the shape.

Thanks for your input... I thought others might have some ideas and then realized many of the young-uns here may not even know what a vacuum tube is!

I messed with several things and settled on a simple radius on the perimeter to give the suggestion of a glass tube... I'm spending way too much time on a very small detail of the wall art!

Sorry about my slow responses... I'm four weeks out from having had a total hip replacement. I get up full of plans for the day, do one thing and sleep the rest of the day!

I actually found several vacuum tubes on turbo squid but when you run them, like the one you made for me... you get a profile of the glass shell. I really want to show the interior and am actually thinking of using electroluminescent wire for some of the details. This is the reason I figure I'll have to use a stylized form and not a true rendering.

You might try looking for some of those bulbs that are in christmas decorations on the end of a candle that flicker and try to emulate a candleflame....
