One slice at a time that is.....:D
My old wooden racks buckled under the weight so i had to move everything, demolish them and put up these new metal racks that i traded a company for a small plaque for.

Then load EVERYTHING back one piece at a time. I know this took me 3-4 days having to do it all myself (3-4 hours at a time).

But I still have room and those things will never buckle on me. The only problem is I will NEVER use all that wood before i die!:(

Betcha the first bit of wood you need is right on the bottom and right at the back!

Well i thought about that just for the reason you stated. That's why on the bottom i stacked the tree slabs flat because i may never get to them but the nice pieces of walnut and cherry are stacked sideways on the 2nd shelf so i can just slide them out instead of having to remove the whole stack to get to them! got some nice flat poplar on the top shelf stacked at the edge easy to get to....believe me i sat there thinking about this during my frequent rest breaks.

Each stack also does not overlap with the stack next to it so if i want something in the third stack, second shelf, fifth board down i can get to it on the end and the most i have to move is whats on top of that stack maybe 4 or 5 boards.:D

oh, i didn't take pictures of THAT pile!:D
What is so funny is, last nite i went looking for a piece of gutter under the roof back there and discovered a branch that had pieced the roof and was dripping water and my first thought was....WOW, i forgot i had all these nice boards back here!
