I ordered a Desktop last week, and I'm trying to get my shop prepped to receive it. Can someone tell me the size of the dust port on it? It looks like I'll need a step-down from the 4" hose of my dust collector, but I'm not sure of the size. Does it take a 2-1/2" hose?

Ross-

When you get the ShopBot.. you will have a tool that can make any adaptor you need! When you realize you can make anything you need around your shop it will change everything.

At first building simple things are recommended, but a hose adapter can be as simple as cutting a circular part with a hole in it.

The more you build the less you have to buy. Owning a ShopBot is a game changer-

Yes, I look forward to that aspect of having a SB. I'm sure it will take some time before it becomes a second-nature tool of the workshop.

For the dust port, I'm assuming that I can use a standard off-the-shelf fitting to attach a dust collection hose. Dianne has informed me that the O.D. is 2", so I just need to make a trip to Woodcraft in this case.

For a few tools I have used a sheet metal duct reducer to go from 4" to 2.5" hose. I had to make an insert (essentially a donut) on the Shopbot to make for a tight fit. As Dana says you can make just about anything you need on the SB. I used a scrap of Azek (PVC) for the donut.
