I made a part that the bit got lose. there is a big mark in the spoil board.
what if any is good to fill the mark. then flaten the table again.
it looks like more of a pocket cut than a mark. :}

thanks larry

What I do is when I surface my board I save the dust and mix it with some glue and fill the bad spots

You can cut a pocket to clean up the spot and then cut a matching plug. glue it in and surface it off.

If the area is small, consider just leaving it alone. Otherwise, I’d do what Dave said and use bondo and then skim surface the spoil board. If it is a vacuum spoil board, drill small holes through the bondo to the original spoil board material.

On the down side, bondo contains some fiberglass which will add some wear to your surfacing bit; however, I suspect that it is nowhere near as bad as the stuff I’ve run into in MDF and Extera. On the plus side, bondo sets in just a few minutes, it is strong and will it hold a screw if necessary.

I’d also look at the damaged area with a magnifying glass and make sure that fragments of the broken bit are not stuck in the spoil board. I had that happen once and I damaged a surfacing bit when I resurfaced the spoil board.
