For those successfully sold into Cabinet Shops - What service(s) are you providing, how did you land your customer(s), and what advice would you have for a new owner/business attempting to sell into this market?

We've had mixed results with cabinet shops, but very good results with commercial millwork shops. Our best customers build store fixtures and convention displays. Lots of repetitive radius work they'd rather hand us! Our latest good contract is cutting parts for restaraunt booths. The cabinet shops we've found the most interested do large scale work like whole apartment developments and the like. The pricing is very competitve there so you have to keep your pencil sharp! We finally hired a salesman and put him out on the road. I don't have time to make the contacts and then develop them into customers plus run the shop. It's a huge step financially but can be worth it if you can swing it. Another possibility is to find a rep already working the area with similar products willing to pick you up.
