Most of us ShopBotters got our start working with our hands in shop classes in school, and we've sadly watched those types of classes disappear from schools all over the country. There's a group called Studio H that's bringing hands-on education back into a school in California in a new and exciting way, and they need some help.
We first heard about Emily Pilloton and Matthew Miller of Studio H when they started a program in a high school in Bertie Co. NC, one of the poorest counties in North Carolina. Their students designed and built real things, ranging from chicken coops to a community Farmer's Market.
Emily and Matt have moved to a Charter school in California and are running a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for Studio H students to build their own classroom. They're ALMOST there with only 9 days to go, so if you're looking for a great cause to help out this holiday season that gets kids designing and building things, check out their Kickstarter campaign.
