I had to unplug a hard drive plugged into my USB drive in front on my PC and when i plug it back in it does not recognize it.
I have rebooted 3-4 times, I checked under device manager and it doesn't show it and it shows no conflicts on the other 2 HD's

Is there a command i can use to force it to scan for new devices? I used to know of a way to scan for new devices but have forgotten and can't figure it out in windows 7:confused:

I got it back but it has a different letter designation and my links won't work. I'll have to change those i guess.

It's always a good idea to use "Eject Device" before unplugging. It may be still writing data when you unpluged it. There a several things you can try, but the first would be to simply try another port...

Some of the other things can get a bit complicated

Go into disk management and reassign it to the old drive letter.
