I attended the two-day class and it is definitely worth it. I would recommend downloading the Part Wizard manual all 160 pages then shopbot operating software. Read it or at least look through it. This would have helped me understand more. I hope this helps you.

The importance of early and correct training when learning a new process cannot be ignored. I am sure I destroyed more material and tooling in learning what I know about the ShopBot and CNC cutting than I would have spent on classes, had they been available.

If there is a local ShopBot owner, get to know them also. A simple process can be difficult to understand if one does not understand the basics. Learning CAD and later CAM and toolpaths have little relationship to other logical processes in the human mind. Well, at least my mind.

You may not feel you learn a lot in your first class. But, like a first foreign language class, you will learn at least a few terms to base your continuing education.
