I am showing the ease of setting up john walsh's cnc trace software and rollup II ,to
trace out a violin back using any computer
In the end i will have a *.dxf file ready for software to create a toolpath to cut the
violin back out of maple

using the cnc trace software and a portable drawing table (rollup II) we will copy a guitar
pic guard ,creating a dxf file and eventually creating a tool path and putting it on the cnc
machine and cutting it out

That not bad but $800.00 for just a trace software is a little to much.

refurb pad is about 1500.00 cool but it would need a lot of use to pay for it's self.

Are you aware that you can do the same thing essentially with a flatbed document scanner or digital camera and PartWorks?

yes i am aware ,but in my experience it needs a lot of editting ,this sample took me about 1 hour but i am happy with it

The full story behind my drawing table called drawing board III i bought it second hand ,then bought the software.I have always drawn my plans but in cad i am lost so now i digitize all my diagrams and i have more use out of my machine than ever .His draw program is very accurate,its origin is from the oil industry topo maps
These clock dials were lasered out and the diagrams scanned were not that great
