Hi All,
I've got some strange stuff going on with the Speed Controller for my PRS Alpha.
Here's the history:
I've got a PRS Alpha with a 4hp HSD spindle.
That's driven by a Yaskawa V7-4X VFD.
I have the Spindle Control card installed in the VFD.

Recently I had to install a new hard drive in my control computer.
At that time I upgraded to Windows 8.

Yesterday I finally got a chance to try the new setup out on the Bot.
Everything starts up ok and I can get the spindle going but it will only spin at 16000. The display on the VFD shows 16000 but the Spindle Control window in the control software shows 26667. I will not allow me to change that value.

I am running version 3.6.44. I have installed the Control Box Firmware for that version.

All was running well before the update.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Scott

When you reloaded the sb software did you choose the correct VFD in the setup. I had to go back in and change mine

Hi Jerry,
Thanks for the reply.
I selected the VFD in the fill-in sheet for the speed controller.
Is there another place I need to set it up?

Scott...
Go back into the RPM Controller fill in sheet. Make sure that: 1) As above you have your correct VFD selected from the drop list 2) That you have "Start with SB3" set to "1" and 3) for the V7-4x set the HTZ to 60 and the HTZ Multiplier to 100

That was it Gary.
The HTZ Multiplier was set to 60 instead of 100.
Gary where does one find that information (other than here on the forum)?

Thank you for your help Jerry and Gary.
I'm back in business.

Have a great day!

For me, usually ShopBot Docs..... "Install Manual for Yaskawa Speed Controller" (not 100% sure on the name) One should have been provided with the speed controller, if you bought it separately, or with your machine, if it was a model that shipped with the speed control.

Glad you're up and running.
