I'll come down from Hoboken. I'm a fairly new shopbot owner and looking forward to my first Camp Shopbot. I'm an artist and primarily cut aluminum.

What are the topics for the morning and afternoon sessions?

So far the requests have been for something on 3D carving/coatings, vacuum setups, and sign making. Still time for some other sessions to be scheduled. Otherwise we'll see what people want to get into while we're there.
NO specific time slots designated for the sessions but again we can move things around if some people will only be there AM or PM , etc. It will be a sizable group ( 50+) so I'm sure there won't be any shortage of questions/info...
To ALL attending please try to bring along something for the Show and Tell session....

I'd love to see the rotary indexer in action

J,
I don't believe they have one on their machine at NextFab. But as anyone who has used one can tell you, they aren't really "action packed" when doing their thing, and cutting a rotary file CAN be time consuming.
We can get into the rotary process at the Camp and show everyone how people have been achieving great results with both stock, and home brewed indexers...There will be a few people on hand with considerable experience in using the indexer so you'll have some brains to pick as well...

I'm planning on attending on Saturday. It would be good to put some names with faces.

Bring your questions...I'll see if I can answer them for you, or at least steer you in the right direction ;)

We had a good crowd, and a great day at NextFab ! MANY thanks to Evan Malone their founder, Itsuki Ogihara their community development specialist who invited us, John Haggerty who now teaches Shopbot classes at NextFab, and Brady Watson for jumping in and doing some of the presentations.

Greetings,
As a daily visitor to this forum but almost never posting because I have a CAMaster CNC machine I wanted to thank Bill for the warm welcome to yesterdays ShopBot camp in Philly.
It was a well organized affair with important topics cleanly presented.
Meeting people with CNC interests is always refreshing and this Camp allowed for that social interaction.
If you have the opportunity to attend a Camp, please take the time to do so, you won't be disappointed.
Also I must add how impressed I was with the location, NextFab.
Another well run organization with altruistic intentions.
Again, my that’s to Bill, Brady, Randy and John.
Michael
