View Full Version : PRT will not zero
Posted in support section but hoping another user has fixed the same issue...
Tried z2 clicking, c2, clicking, tried zeroing Z axis...nothing. But each time I tryt it the right hand window goes to all zeros!
Tried turning off and on, changed ports, reloaded firmware, changed to default settings, no movement, no horn.
Jogs fine with arrows, load a file and warning horn comes on, gantry moves. (But no idea where it would end up if I let it follow through)
Com test is fine. Have a very simple boat plaque to do and I am stuck. Any help is apreciated!

Z2 sets the current location in the x and y axis to zero. If you are trying to establish a home position from the limit switches the c3 command will do that in the x and y. The c2 command will zero the z axis with the use of the contact plate.
If you move the machine to anywhere on the table and type z2, you will reassign the x and y axis to 0 at that position. This is the reason the x and y (right box) equal zero after typing that command. If you type c3, the machine will move in the x until it locates the x limit switch and establish its location in x. It will then move in the y until it finds the y limit switch and establish its location in y. Hopefully this makes sense.

If you are doing it in the order you show above , no wonder it's not moving.
when you Z2 you say "this is my new starting point.
When you then press C2 you are saying "go back to my set zero point"...
Well, you are already there...
Try doing a (Z)ero X,Y
Now manually move with the arrow key the carriage a distance away
Now do a MH (move home) if it goes back to your spot then you are ok, if not then you have a problem.
