Folks -

Allrighty then.... I figured out the wiring of the X2 (I hope) - In the book it doesn't say which set of holes to use in mounting the Z gantry. There are 4 holes on either side, giving 3 mounting height options. I chose the center one, because the oval holes made it easy to fasten the captive nuts. However, in plunging the Z carriage all the way down, the spindle easily reaches well below the surface of the table. Should I mount the Z carriage on the higher setting - the manual doesn't really go into it.

Finally, at least for this post, do the prtAlphas have 6", 7" or 12" of Z movement - from the length of the rack it looks like I've got 12", but you know how guys are....

I would appreciate any illuminating remarks.

Thanks in advance,

John Moorhead

Hi John!

The way I've set my Z, assuming that I have a 1" long tool bit out of the collet and 2" thick spoilboard, I have about 6.75" of Z movement. This is on a SB based table plan.
