Ok, it has been almost 3 years since I bought my shopbot and I am finally getting around to tuning up all of the gadgets that came with it. One the things I am finally getting hooked up is the Logitech Wingman remote control. I can get the Shopbot to recognize the Wingman, and I can move the carriage in the X and Y directions (with the right joystock). What I am wondering is if someone can tell me what all of the other buttons do (A, B, C, X, Y, Z, R1, R2, L1, L2, the left joystick, and the left "thumbpad"). Not that is has stopped me before, I am a little hesitant to just start pressing buttons without any preconceived idea of what I might be doing. If someone could let me know what those buttons do, then that would be great.
Hope all is well.
Regards
Peter

In the logitech profiler software menu, go to device , print device layout and it will tell you how it is currently set up. You can of course change to your preferences.

I don't know if this will happen to you but this did to me so be aware of this...
After i set everything up and had it moving successfully the reciever is plugged into your usb port.

Well i laid my controller on the table next to the reciever and it started going NUTS cycling thru the various commands and it made my laptop screen look like the front of a pinball machine with it cycling thru the commands and such, so i don't use it anymore. I have an Iphone and am tempted to buy the app and try it.
So just be careful about where you lay your controller, then again it may not happen to anyone else:confused:

Jack,
I am aware of that issue. When I first got the Shopbot, I had that very same thing happen so I put the Wingman controller away until I had some free time. I have finally have the time to mess around with it and want to get it fully functional. I now keep the Wingman next to the machine on a shelf about 8 feet away from the computer.
I like the idea of the Iphone/Ipad controller but I need to buy a router and then would need to make sure the guy that is running the machine has an Iphone or Ipad. The Wingman is already in the inventory so I am going with it for now, or at least the foreseeable future.
In order to get the commands for the buttons really figure out, I will have to get a PDF printer installed on the machine. Right now, the computer is completely stand alone and not hooked up to anything other than the Shopbot.
I did play with it some more this afternoon and got some of the buttons figured out. R1/R2 are raise and lower Z. B is nudge the machine. A is Enter. Y is supposed to be XY_Zero but I get some funny looking screen. Z is supposed to be Z_Zero but I get a different funny looking screen. I am guessing that both of those are pointing at old files somewhere. C is Keystroke+2..whatever the heck that is! Looks like I will have some fun doing a little programming.
Thanks for the help.
