The dust skirt provided by ShopBot, while functional, seems to be sub-optimal design. It's very noisy, has a restricted orifice and is flimsy.
What do others use? Has anyone made their own? It seems like a part that can be improved.

There are loads of threads on this subject that you can get via a search. It's one of those that comes up every few weeks.
I'm a very happy user of the Kent shoe - https://www.kentcnc.net/nc/ - as are many ShopBot owners.

I've had the Kent Shoe for a few weeks now. Wow! What a big difference!
I love it!
The only drawback... it takes a little bit of getting used to having the dust hose on the front side vs. the back.
Don't bother reading the other threads - just go to the Kent site and get one.
I recommend a 2" brush set and a couple spacers. First got the 3" but found it getting nibbled on while table surfacing.

Nope... order the 3" and the 2" and a spacer and just be done with it. Cover all of your potential needs.

Just finished ordering the KentCNC with a 3" and 2" brush. I didn't get the spacer as I ordered it before the last two posts were made. If it's really necessary and useful, I'll order that as well!
Thanks all for the help on this.

John,
I often use the 3" brush with two spacers, when I run extended length 1/2" AND 5/8" diameter bits. Normally I run just the 3" brush - dont often use the 2" but when you need it it is nice to have. With both brushes and a few spacers you can get it to the best height for pretty much any bit you can imagine.

@Daryl,
I don't think I can make the case for Aspire this month. There's plenty of exploring I can do with PartWorks for now. By next month I should know the difference between the two and that's when I can make my case.
