I had a problem the other day. I was running a job and the program quit I'm
sure it was from dust collector static which I hope I fixed with new grounding.

The problem that I am concerned with is after I restarted the job I noticed
the holes that I was cutting were not round. I thought that the pinion gear
was loose so I dropped the motor and that was not the case the motor was
off. I shut everything down and turned it back on and the motor came back to life. The question is, is the motor OK? Will static kill a motor?

I have a prs standard
it has the old controller, the red light was on all the drivers but the motor was off

Thanks
Mike

Could be a value got goofed around in your settings. Could also be a loose pinion. Have you checked your rack to make sure there is no play in it.

Check for dragging motor on your x, too.

It should be pretty easy to work out.

Once in a great while with the older control boxes you will have this issue. It is not due to you doing something wrong. It is always worth it to test your motors and make sure they are on when the control box is on. If not, simply shut the control box down for a fifteen seconds or so and turn it back on.
To test the x motors after you turn them on (or think you did) just give a light shove at each one. They shouldn't move.

Thanks Dave

I have been making it a habit lately of giving all motor a shake after I turn it
on.

I worried that the static hit might of damaged something

Thanks

Mike
