PRSalpha BT48 Clamping

I am considering purchasing a PRSalpha BT48 and I would like to know if someone has a solution for clamping the work down? I am not considering a vacuum system at this time.

You can use screws, push-pull, Destaco or cam clamps, wedges or carpet tape, just for starters...90% of the work involved with CNC is answering the question, "How am I going to hold this down?"

Does "Standing on the " *##*! warped Board " count? I guess you got to be fast on your feet though.

Doesn't matter what kind of flatbed CNC you buy. Holddown system issues are universal. No-one can give you specific advice as the answer doesn't lie in what CNC you are buying, but with what you are cutting. Many owners (myself and Brady and most regular contributors to the forum included) use a variety of systems depending on the individual project.

Yup...It's been done before!!! It's all fun & games until you get your screw gun wedged under a PRT gantry and lift it off the rails, trying to unscrew stuff while the machine is running around... :eek:

Don't be too quick to dismiss vacuum on a Buddy. It is cheap and easy to do, and works very well. $200 or so and some work on your part will get you into the game.

I had read that the moving gantry was an easier system to use clamps on than the moving table?? I will read more a vacuum systems. Thank-you for the helpful replies.:)
