I have been working on a prototype for some industrial stencils in 1/8" acrylic and the stencil font in Aspire isn't working out very well. I was wondering if anyone has a good sorce for additional fonts and an explantation as to how to get it into Aspire. My other option is to node edit each letter. the problem is that the some of the spacing of the stencil font letter componets are so small that they easily break either during cutting, or during handling after. They need to be re-usable and a little more durable. Thanks for any help.

Here is one I found that you maybe could use. Just open the zip and copy it to the font file in your windows folder.

Thanks guys. I was able to download both and install them. I'll give them a cut tomorrow. This was a good exercise for me as the deep internal workings of the computer are one of my weaknesses and now I know how to install fonts. One further question; I chose to install the new fonts in the Aspire program file, in the fonts folder. If I had installed them in the Windows font folder would they have also shown up in the Aspire drop-down menu when selecting text? If that is correct, then I would assume that had I installed them into the Windows font folder they would be available in Word and Aspire, am I correct? Thanks again.

All fonts in windows/fonts file should show up in Aspire list, and also in Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Fonts exclusively in the Aspire fonts folder will not be available elsewhere.

The Aspire fonts folder is for the propriety single line fonts that are supplied with the program.
Any additional fonts you add should be installed as normal Windows fonts. They will then be available to Aspire and all other Windows programs.

Oops. The couple I installed in the Aspire fonts folder were available and I designed with them. Can I just drag them into the Windows fonts folder to make everything proper?
thanks,

Something to be aware of is that a lot of True Type fonts are going to give your toolpath function a problem. They will have open vectors, overlapping vectors and even missing vectors.
Sometimes you will have to do a separate tool path just for one letter. (When the toolpath generates it will not do one letter of a word because it finds bad vectors) You can usually do a toolpath just for the one or two missing letters because it was an overlap problem and without the letter next door selected the overlap doesn't exist.
Lots of times I will just find another font that works better and carry on. If you just have to have a particular font and you hare having problems there is a font doctor program on the web that will let you node edit individual letters and save them in the font file.
