grain fraim, and sandblast mask.

Looks much better when you DON'T grain the border. imo

Chad,

I'm encouraged to see you wanting to include wood-grain to your signs.

Using the CNC for graining is quiet easy once you get acquainted with the process. It’s been a standard practice at our shop. Once we threw out the sandblaster and started using our brains, work became more pleasant and profitable. I blasted signs for twenty years. Never again.

A good 3D program is necessary. All I have done is photograph beautiful wood panels and imported the jpgs into ArtCam. The average time for a panel is about six hours. I seldom make small panels. But all that is done while I'm home at sleep.

If you look over my work, I usually paint and apply my letters separately. This allows for a faster and cleaner job completion. I refrain from painting letters on a panel. It causes back aches and muscle pain and seldom looks as clean.

Chad,

One word of caution. You'll hear lots of ways to accomplish your graining method. However, if your like me, photo's will guide you further than words.

Lets see photo's. Talk is easy!
