I'm setting up the hardware box for a PRT 96 and I'm needing to know where things go. I took the job because I have exp connecting wires to pc boards which this is..

A little background info.. The guy got it from a college and it has been sitting. It worked on dos and he wanted to upgrade it to a new board and thought he could do it for $200 so he had me remove the board and disconnect everything. Well thinking that we were getting a new board I didn't try to remember where everything went. So yeah I need to connect everything back and put the correct software for the PTR 96 on to windows XP. He doesn't want to use the dos setup. If you can please direct me in the right direction of setting this up you will be a god send. The end that's connected to the shopbot router is already to go so it's mostly a matter of hooking up the cables on the pc end of things. I have some idea's but i'm new to this. Please help

Here's all the pic's I took of the board last night:

Documentation for PRT assembly is available on the www.shopbottools.com (http://www.shopbottools.com) web site.

http://www.shopbottools.com/files/docs/AssemblyBinder060828.pdf

Do not plug in or unplug any motor cables while the control box is plugged in and turned on. You can easily blow out a driver.

Your cables should be labeled X1 (one red piece of tape) and X2 (two pieces of red tape) and Y (one blue piece of tape) and Z (one white piece of tape).
On the back of the control box that the board mounts in, the motor cables get connected with X1 at the top, X2 beneath that, Y beneath that, and Z beneath that. The last connection would be for an accessory which you may or may not have.

If you look near the motor connections on the circuit board you will see the labels X1, X2, Y, Z, ACC

The wires that connect to the blocks that look like blue legos would be an E-stop and the Z Zero plate wires and the proximity switches if you have them on the machine.

You can also download the software for it -

The first thing i would do is call Shopbot tech support. There is no charge for service and they certainly should know what goes where and have the proper documentation to help and can guide you and are happy to help, so don't be shy. This is what makes this company stand out so, do yourself a favor and avoid a lot of headaches and potential damage.
