See the attached picture. This is a picture of a spoil board surfacing routine. I'm not sure what the ridges/nubs are that were left on three sides of the face of the spoil board. I am a new user and have not run any other projects on the bot yet.
The 1/2" bit that comes with the starter kit was being used; -0.03 depth of cut; 5% bit overlap.
Any feedback would be appreciated. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before?
I emailed the support folks at shopbot too.

You need more overlap. I suggest at least 15%.

Yes, others have seen it also. The ridges suggest that your spindle is not perfectly perpendicular to the table. The greater the diameter of the bit, the more it shows up. If you're only planning on using small diameter bits, it may not be anything much to worry about. If your machine is one of the older PRT models you may be able to "tinker" it square. If you have a PRS however, it won't be as easy. Look up the term "tramming."

I have a similar output when I surface, as said earlier more overlap will take care of the nubs. The lines I get are actually because one tooth of my surfacing bit is just a little shorter then the other, also It seems like you have a lot of fuzz on your table so either your bit needs to be sharpened or your are running to fast. and are you really surfacing with only a 1/2" bit???
