SIMPLE INLAY...CUTTING BOARDS AND ANYTHING THAT HAS FLAT AREAS THAT YOU COULD DECORATE OR DO INLAYS IN.. DRAW A LINE OR A RECTANGLE THRU THE PATTERN POCKET IT OUT ON THE CNC, WHAT I DO IS USE SCRAPE WOOD STRIPS LEFT OVER FROM THE SAW. I HAVE THIN STRIPS THAT ARE ANYWHERE FROM 1/16 TO 3/8 I SLICE THEM INTO 1/4 INCH STRIPS I THEN CUT MY POCKET TO MATCH THE SLICE, GLUE IT IN, THEN SAND IT SMOOTH. SIMPLE AND EASY, (USE WASTE MATERIAL) ANOTHER GOOD WAy TO DO INLAY IS TO USE A PRODUCT CALLED INLACE (www.inlaceonline.com (http://www.inlaceonline.com)) it is a two part liquid inlay.. several colors and sometime I may mix two colors. with inlace you can do all sorts of patterns and inlays designs..

I have used it on bowls, cutting boards, rolling pins, even some of my wood utensils.
