Hello SB,

This is my first question in the SB talk forum, i hope this great community can help.

I have been trying to problem solve this for a couple days and have had no luck. Ill paint the scenario for you to see what you might think the issue could be, or what to look out for.

I attempted to cut a 3D part using the 1/8 tapered ball end bit. I had success cutting the part as per the 3D CAD file several times without fail. I then jumped on the SB desktop again to make a couple more parts of the same exact file/design...and the SB cutting tool decided that it wanted to heard in the opposite direction of the cut (basically up against the wall, making that loud noise when it hits the end). I backed it off, reset the machine/software, reset the XYZ zero's and loaded the same file. Again it happened. I went thru this process about 10 times and could not solve this issue.

Does anyone know what I could look into or try to fix this problem? The really bazaar part is that I didnt change the file at all, and nothing else really changed other than the date on the calender.

Thanks much SB community and appreciate any help or tips!

Best,

Dominic

Try going to the Values : Units and change the sign of the X unit value. If it is plus, make it minus. If its minus, delete the negative sign.

The problem should go away.

Shopbots are very flexible!

hi Dana,

Thank you so much for the quick reply. So even thou I didnt change anything on the settings or file.. you think this will work?
When I go to change the values, are you talking about in the ShopBot 3 area (when im ready to cut the part) or in the VCarve 3D file?
Yeah shopbots are super flexible...sometimes too much! :)
Thanks!

HI GENE,

What should the normal Unit Value look like? I never changed any of it but right now it looks like this....

Unit Value X Axis= 4000.00
Unit Value Y Axis= 4000.00
Unit Value Z Axis= 4000.00

Base Coordinate Offset X Axis = .000
Base Coordinate Offset Y Axis = .000
Base Coordinate Offset Z Axis = .000

Driver Channel Definitions= XYZab

Software Limit Checking = 0
Limit Mode = 0
Input #4 Type = 1
Output #4 Mode = -1

Thanks!

Dom
