Hi, Due to an issue where all my Custom commands were deleted (no idea how this occurred), I reloaded 3.8.6.
All went good until trying to start the spindle control. I get a run-time error '13' type mismatch. Last time this happened, Frank from support was able to get rid of the error by getting me to change a value in the registry. I obviously can't remember that setting and was hoping someone else has the solution so I don't have to wait til tomorrow to get an answer from tech support.
I'm in Australia and it is currently 11am so by the time tech support is open it will be 12 hours later and the middle of the night. I am trying to find a solution so I don't lose a day of cutting on the shopbot. And yes I've submitted a support enquiry to tech support.
Regards,
Shane.

Just got off the phone to Frank at Shopbot Support. He provided a screenshot of the spindle control folder that needs to be deleted in regedit to fix the run time error 13.
I thought I'd post this in case anyone else has issues, so it can provide a quick fix for them.
Shane.

I am a new Shopbotter and ran into this issue on 2 separate PCs. I'm sure this post saved me a lot of time and frustration. I should have looked here sooner.
Thank you.

Yes, delete the folder. You'll have to click on 'rpm' and enter the proper values in the fill in sheet in SB3 afterwards.
THANK YOU SOO VERY MUCH!!!!
Yon have saved me soon much time. Thank you for your taking the time to share the knowledge, this is awsome. You guys save me soo much time and frustration thank you once again.

Hello everyone, I typed in two many points in my router speed and the error came up (Run Time error 13 Type Mismatch). I went into the shopbot file and went down to Virtual Tools. Do i delete the whole file. I am running a router. I have reloaded Shopbot link and still get the error. Thanks everyone for all your help.

It's covered in the FAQs - http://shopbottools.com/ShopBotDocs/faqs.htm
You need to delete the section in the Windows registry using the RegEdit program.

Does anyone know what causes the "Run Time error 13 Type Mismatch" to occur? I've had to go into regedit 3 or 4 times now to delete the Spindle Control folder, to clear it up.

FYI I was just getting this runtime error 13 type mismatch error. In my case it ended up being that I had accidentally entered garbage into the X&Y Move box in the ShopBot software. I guess it didn't like that there wasn't a number there. Once I put a number back in that box the error went away.

jheiss,
Same thing here. I must have fat fingered some junk into the command line box. Once I entered a valid command and executed it the error went away. No need to muck with the registry.

Just a suggestion. In cases where deleting a file or folder seems necessary I usually first rename with a bogus file extension. If all then works good I go back and delete. If not I can always go back and change the name and extension back as it was.

HMM... Time for a little error checking on input?

Ron,
I agree!!! As someone who has previously coded for a living, a programmer should never rely on the entries of a human, there should always be error checking or validation of the entry. It does make for more work on the programmer but less chance of an invalid entry......

Hello this happened to me but the error pops up right when the control software opens so it wont let me fix it. I put .4.0 in the box due to my fat fingers.....

Tom at shopbot got it figured out. I had to go to C:\ProgramData\ShopBot\ShopBot 3\shopbot.ini and edit the VS line and it fixed it right up.
