Does anyone know the best way to use system restore to go back to 3.6.44. I updated to 3.8 and did not like the way it worked. I did a system restore point before the update. When I do the restore point I have 2 folders shopbot and shopbot(2) I have tried removing shopbot from add and remove programs and still get 2 folders Thanks

that's because your system restore only restored system files... NOT application folders. Most people do not backup application folders because takes up soooooo much space. In my opinion u got 2 options.... I had same problem... rebuild entire system from scratch (formatting hard drive etc) and then reload system and all applications OR call shopbot as I did. U have to uninstall shopbot versions... manually delete folders in many directories because uninstall does not and they are all over the place.. tech support can tell u which ones... THEN... they will tell u how to delete entries in your registry.. only then (in my opinion) will u get proper install. The big problem is new version works well as a first time install. installing over old version is problematic at best. I am running newest version and have had no problems after a week of attempting to install from this forum. Took techs less than an hour to help me. Call shopbot.. they can fix it faster than u can by reading and/or piecing info from people like me.... save uself a headache and call tech support. they are very good. why they don't post solutions on this forum is beyond me... guess they like answering the phone.

As usual, I expect some to say I a fool and an idiot... they never said that when I plopped down 14 grand for brand new buddy and vectric software. Call shopbot and do not rely on this forum... many of the reliable people are tired of hobbiest and only want to answer professional sign makers (again my opinion... you can find many post dissing the hobbiest). unless u enjoy doing puzzles. Call the manufacturer and save yourself a lot of grief.. this is the honest truth and if that makes me a troll who happens to have enuff money to buy the best cnc I could.. then so be it.... hope this response does not invalidate my lifetime support.

SAVE USELF SOME TIME.... CALL SHOPBOT.

Good luck
