Here is a video i ran across for making inlay banding on your CNC. It looks easy enough to do although you will need a good sander and a accurate bandsaw but i could definitely see how you wouldn't need to make it that thin if you were making a band for the top of a coffee table. Don Thompson, does that give you any ideas, since you are the coffee table king here:D

Nice process Jack and easily do-able.

His design was fairly simple and i can see how you could make a far more intricate design and not even have to cut it that thin and use it to band say a coffee table top or a jewelry box.:D

Sorry for late reply Jack. Been on vacation since 7/10. I will take a look at the video.

Just took a look at the video. Very cool process he uses.

I could see some interesting applications of home made inlay for coffee tables, for sure.

Thanks for sharing Jack. :)

That is hard core.
My hands don't work well enough to make that tiny banding, but I could easily make some stuff on a larger scale. It's be great for prettying up lots of things.

What I liked most in that video were the indexing pins he had on the table.
I need to figure out how to do that on my table and start working from a corner rather than always centering my projects on the table. It would make flip operations a breeze, comparatively.
