has anyone tried cutting stone? i am thinking about making a face sink out of stone with a "bowl" carved out in the center, any thoughts guys?

It all depends on what you mean by "stone". I have engraved marble with limited success. Harder stones like granite do not cut well with the tools commonly available to use in a woodworking tool.
