I have a PRS standard and cannot get my limits to work I'm not sure if I have my vn switch's right, when the limit switch crosses over the bolt the light goes out but the gantry keeps traveling, any ideas I'm new to this so any help would be appreciated.
The machine was purchased new this year.
Thanks Johnny

If you are moving with the keypad- both of mine always did that. The prox
switches work fine when doing a C3 or running a file. I thought it was normal?

What I do is move the target bolt to the center and then try a move command to pass over it and see if it will trigger. once I get it to trigger I move it back and try a c3 and see if it will zero.

That is what I did but it still passes right by them but the light on the switch will go out as it passes.

No, the 3 and 4 lights stay on all the time.

if that is the case you have to change them in the vn setup. 4 is the Estop

Can you post a screen shot of your input/output switches.

Can you post a screen shot of your input/output switches.
How do you do that?

open the values and hit Print Screen then go into paint and paste the screen shot close paint and it will ask you if you want to save it click yes and give it a name and remember where you saved it then you can attach it to your post.

Might want to check that your switches are wired at the control box properly, #1 shouldn't be lit like that and #3 should be. Could also be VN settings. Get us a screenshot of that fill-in sheet.

I have tried just about every combination there is with these switches. When the prox switches move across the bolts the lights on the prox switches will go out.

I have checked that also and everything matches the paperwork that came with it.

How are you moving the gantry with the move command or with the keypad. If you use the keypad it overides the switchs

When I do a c3 it will say use arrow keys to move off prox switches and i'm no where near them and if I change the setting it will say the stop is on.

On mine the limits on or off it is set at off

You can use the keypad to move towards the switches, just that once the the prox switch senses the target and stops movement, subsequent attempts with the keypad (arrow keys), will move past the target.

What do your input lights look like when away from the target and the LED on the prox is on.

I'd double check the wiring for the prox, e-stop, and even the zero plate. I'd also reset to the defaults for your machine with a UR to be sure that you have the VN settings at default.

If your limits are set to 'Off', they will not work with the keypad or with a file. If file limit checking (different than limits off) is off and limits are on, keypad moves will be stopped by the prox switches but not files.

It's possible that you could have one or more bad prox switches.

Just went through my wiring schematic and everything matches up. The only lights on my screen that are on are the 1,2,4, and when the prox passes the bolt the 2 light on the screen will flash but will not stop the machine.

sure may match up...but saying wiring problem means connections...hardware true connections

What control box do you have.

If wiring and connections are good, when a target is hit (either X or Y), inputs 2 and 3 should both be activated.

The only time #1 should lit up is when the zero plate is grounded, so somethings not right there. Sure that the zero plate and prox cables are not crossed up? Bad inputs on the board maybe.

I went and checked again and everything matches the schematic. If they were crossed would the zero plate still work? Everything works but the prox switches.

What control box do you have.

What number do you need the one on the door of the control box?

Glad you got it sorted out. Sometimes you just have to shut everything down and restart to clear any settings that are held.
