Hello,

Before taking an holiday week, i forget to turn off the shopbot. During five days, the cpu was turned on and the spindle fan as well. The control box was a bit hot (not so much) but smelt a bad plastic taste ....

Is is a problem ... I thought there was an automatic system to turn off the sHOPBOT after few hours of non working ...:o

Thank you.

Pierre.

Try it. if it works everything is ok.. Actually it should be ok. You just put that many hours of use on the parts that were on. This is my opinion and actually I am only guessing I have no technical knowledge to base it on.

Shouldn't be. Both can be run continuously and shouldn't experience failure. As I recall you have a PRS Standard with 4HP HSD spindle, correct?
Run an air cut file or two and you will have your answer for sure.

Your only danger is lightning and power surges. Otherwise, mine has run continuously as much as 5 or 6 days before without a power down.
