Attached are a couple of examples of hail damaged signs. We've replaced three signs so far with another in the shop. While this is good money it's a heart breaker. The latter sign has 23K letters and as you can imagine outside exaggerates the flaws.

Perhaps my attempt with solid PVC won't solve the problem but I sure it will do better than HDU. My cedar signs haven't been damage very much. I'll do an inspection in a few days.

Joe, Do you have any idea what size hail took those chunks of foam off the sign? Bob

Bob,

It appears the first sign had several assaults over a long period. Some of the dents look dark due to UV damage while the broken letters shows fairly fresh damage. I'd guess the first damage was four or five years ago.

The dentist sign was recently damaged with stone about ping pong ball size. It took the Insurance about three months to cough up the money. I've had to replace a few signs over the years, due to weather, but last year was a banner period.

I've never replaced a wood sign from this kind of damage. I'm confident PVC with weather the hail storms in a better fashion.
