When I start my cut into the piece that I want, the machine just dives into the wood. It starts out normal and then just goes straight down and buries its self and I have to stop the machine. When I check the tool path to see if its telling it to do that everything is normal. I do not know why this is happening. please help.

Matthew...
Can you post a relevant portion of your code?

Matthew,

Is it possible that in material setup for your design file, you have it set to material surface, but at the machine, you're zeroing at the table surface. Do you have a ramp set in the toolpath form (add ramp, smooth, zig zag, or spiral)? Is the depth per pass for the tool set too high and is attempting to do the cut in one pass?

Is this a new machine? First run? Is it using the proper unit values (when given a move command for each axis, does it move that amount or more than)?
