I read the 2012 post on this, but thought I should just start a fresh thread.
I probed and used Probe to Surface, in order to have data to import. However, the model size is different than the scan size. For instance, I scanned x_2", y_4.5", to a maxZ_-5.5
The highest point in the scan was -1.309"; so, I would expect a model size of x_2,y_4.5,4.191. BUT, I am looking at a model size of 2,4, 4.088
Anyone?

Where did you set your Zzero? How deep did you tell it to probe? You didn't probe the table surface did you?

Did you scan (raster) in the X or Y direction?

You scanned as an SBP, and then converted it to a 3D DXF, correct?

I've managed to get the files to create components.
I set Zzero at .02" above the object. I did not scan the table. Object is 7.25" thick. There were numerous 'cliffs' around the edges at different hieghts. So, i used differents maxZ plunges to avoid trouble.
Now, looking at what I did, I'm thinking, "what a mess!"
Now, I have to make a way to create components inside, as I want to take .5 to 1" off the surface. This is the bottom of the "bowl".
I've attached an image of the components.... my mess.

Ha! You are right...that IS a mess! BUT - a great opportunity to hone your skills in Aspire.

If you sent it out to be laser scanned, you'd be cutting right now! :D
