I have been using Sikkens Cetol 1 on cedar projects for along time with great results. I have a upcoming project that I would like add some solid colour to and I have a few question for those who have done this:
Is latex or oil preferred over Sikkens?
How long do you let the Sikkens dry befor adding solid colour?
I like to recoat my cedar project after the first year, how will this impact the painted surfaces?
I read that a lot of people on this forum are using the log and siding what is the advantage of this over Cetol?
I apriciated any thoughts,
Dan

I was surprised that I had not received any responses. I hope I have not breached some forum etiquette that I was not aware of? I have attached a few picture to clarify my questions. In the past most projects of this kind have been for inside installations and I use ML Campbell Post cat varnish. As this will be installed on the outside of a building and Sikkens is my preferred finish for exterior cedar.

I would go straight to the best source on this one and e-mail Joe Crumley. He doesn't monitor the site regularly and I'm sure he would be glad to help but likely didn't see the post. Also if you search Sikkens and read his posts you may have your answer already.
Steve, if you jumped on 77 and dropped in on him, he'd love it! I wish I were close enough.
