Web Cam

I have my shop at home and sometimes come into the house while the cnc is running. I was thinking of hooking up a webcam to watch the cnc. Does anybody have info on this besides buying a webcam? Not sure how the webcam works to broadcast the video to where I can see it. I have a smart phone, tablet and pc in the house. Any help appreciated.

Glen if your gear is Apple you could try an app called "Dog Monitor" to see if wireless will work OK for you as it just wont work in some domestic environments. With this system you can even go down the road and buy a paper and monitor the bot! You dont need to buy anything to try it and you dont have to jump through hoops to set it up as it automatically pairs.

I picked up a cheap webcam and the $5 app that was on the forum link and good to go. I did look into Brady's baby monitor option but the camera ones were over $100 here in the frozen north. Glad to get the cam working as I have a job to cut tonight and can take time in the house and come out for bit changes.

I use a drop cam,, the new pro is excellent and if you only use it to monitor there are no monthly fees.. you need wifi in the room and you can watch it from phone tablet computer anywhere
