Kind of feel not worthy after seeing the cool stuff all of you do!
But you were all new at one time. Finally got up the courage to carve my Blood Wood.
Nice wood to work with!!

Great job. Don't put yourself down. We all started with a "first" project and have learned much since then. Be patient and take your time.

I LOVE bloodwood and the way it carves. I do a lot of wedding plates using a combination of bloodwood and quarter sawn sycamore.

Keep on keepin' on. You're doing great!

I have never cut blood wood before, I seem to be hung up on black walnut.

That looks pretty good to me so not sure why you are critical, although I am my worst critic.

What size is it and what size ball nose did you use for the finishing tool path?

The size is 16 x 32. I used an 1/8" ball nose with an 7% step over. The picture has no finish, I only used a soft scotch bright (The white one) and a brush on my drill. It is a very tight grain wood and almost looks polished after the final cut.
Reminds me of Mahoney with a better grain. The only down side is $$$ the piece I used was 80.00 but the guy I buy it from has a piece 17" wide which is nice.
