Jim
What are the guidelines for bringing a project? I am just finishing up my version of the Shrunk Clock. Did it on a tabletop Shopbot in a condo. Kind of like the guy that builds a sailboat in the living room.

I guess as long as we will not get arrested it should be OK ! Just how Big is it ?

My Shop is 21000 square feet with 14-18 foot cielings will it fit?

tlempicke
02-02-2014, 06:41 PM
"Honey I Shrunk the Clock" is a free project that Aspire gave away last year. I modified it so that I could use a real clock movement in it and plan on finishing it up this week. It is 41 inches tall.

I won't make it there this year, I'm actually going to be in MN.

For anyone still trying to decide, if you're looking for tips on Aspire and ideas it is well worthwhile.

Mark,
When are you flying in? I am in Northern Ontario (Timmins, about 8 hrs drive north of you) and will be heading down Wednesday.

We should get together Wed night for dinner. I will be checking out the shop I think in the afternoon.

Andrew,
Your one of the reasons I am going. Can't wait to meet you after reading and seeing your work.
I have never been to Timmins but partied in Cochrane 30+ years ago.
Unfortunately I don't get in until Wednesday night at 11:30pm. It will be 1:00am before I get to a hotel. I still have to book it tomorrow.
I don't even own Aspire but from reading the Agenda, it appears the whole Vectric and SB world are converging in Columbia for the weekend. How could I pass that up.

Mark

The whole event sounds really good - I am sure I will learn a lot and take home some valuable info. My only fear is I can digest all of it in the short 3 days!

Thanks Andrew.

Let me re-phrase my previous post. In reading it now, it sounds a little creepy.

I look forward to meeting yourself and others with skills beyond my own. The chance to network and gain insights into the running a successful business leveraging a CNC Router is an amazing opportunity not to be missed.

On top of this Jim has lined up a weekend full of training and vendor presentations.

See you in May

We'll, what an informative three days... I appreciate greatly al the effort that went into this very informative three day event. Thanks to the speakers, to Vectric and especially Jim for hosting this. I can only hope to remember a small fraction of what I learned and start improving my use of Aspire and the quality of my models and work.

Thanks everyone!

Also, it was great to meet a lot of the guys previously only known to me on the forum.

James,
Thank you for hosting this camp and all of the work that went into making it happen. James Booth and crew, the presentations were great and very informative. I learned quite a lot and everyone who attended was quite helpful. The CNC family are a great group of guys/ ladies, I wish every group was like this. Again, thank you for everything. I will definitely be attending next year.
P.S. The BBQ lunch was great kudos to the cook.

This years meeting was really good and the whole Vectric crew enjoyed themselves and learned a lot, so a big thanks to Jim for his hospitality and organisation.

Andrew C - regarding your bench shape - please take a look at this post on the Vectric forum as I need your feedback: http://forum.vectric.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=19903&start=15
