Anyone able to explain why f=200 means 12,000 RPM? The spindle controller for the alpha reads out in RPM; why wouldn't the smaller Delta spindles do the same?

Is there a way to fix the display so that it reads in more useful units or is the real solution to get the spindle speed controller card?

f is frequency in Hz, i.e. cycles per second. 200 hz times 60 seconds per minutes will get you 12,000 rpm with a single pole asynchronous motor. I can not answer the question how to get rpm readout directly.

OK, that makes sense, thanks, and easy enough to do the conversion arithmetic.

John, Do you have this?

Thanks for the table. I notice it has 3m of warmup time instead of 10m, which seems a lot more reasonable.

John, 3 minutes EACH 150,200,250. If you need a timer Graeme(Coogara) sent me one from the wonderful world of OZ, and said I could pass it on, but it's too big for forum as a .zip. PM or e-mail if it would help. .wmv is an Australian cop siren I think, rather hard to ignore:)

I was working out an issue with TJ's help
He said there was a way to change the Spindle fro F to RPM buy changing the some connections inside the control box and Tech Support could give me
the particulars.
I am a Legally Blinded OIF Vet and not usre I want to attempt to re-wire the controller
I found a digital TAC on amazon for about $20 to have it give me the RPN reading from the spindle
