I'm sure this basic question has been asked and answered before, but unfortunately, the search engine won't allow searches that include any two-letter words (like "mx").

Is there a way to enter millimeters for a MX parameter value, or does it only accept inches?

I (think) in order for it to move in millimeters you need to set its values to millimeters.
Go to VD/Linear units and change inches to millimeters in the drop down menu

What Jack said is what I do......should do a C3 again as I find going from one unit to the other is not an exact science but close enough....I find it can vary about 3 thou max.

Thanks for the pointers, guys. Will setting the units with VD affect any the behavior of processing a sbp file? I think that if there's a rounding error as a result of changing the units with VD, I'd rather simply do the calculation to inches when I need to use the MX command rather than doing a C3 every time I change. I was hoping there was a way to specify units to the MX command rather than making a global change. It sounds like that's not an option.

You obviously need to make your file in mm to begin with, then reset your VD so your file is in mm and your table is in mm. Then there is no calculations needed.

Yea Jack that was how I was doing it but some time ago noticed I didn't have to. My SB3 is setup in inches but I drew in mm and then saved with the MTC inch PP and loaded and cut fine (VD in inch as well).
