What type of laptops are you all using to run aspire , ccp, and shopbot control software ? I am looking at getting a new laptop for design work and was wondering what type would be best to do so on. Is window 7 better than windows 8 ? are there any Problems with each ? Thank you Gene

You should have a dedicated computer for the Shopbot. It doecn't have to be all that powerful but stripped down to just the OS and Shopbbot software I do have Aspire on mine also to make quick changes to files.

I do , its just that my laptop has gotten old and not worth the price to upgrade. Also i would like a bigger screen as to the fact that my eyes have gotten old also . Is one brand better than another ? Thanks

My Aspire laptop is an alienware m18x (http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-m18x-r2/pd) windows 7 raid SSDs with an intel i5, SLI graphics cards and 16G of ddr3. If its good for gaming its good for CAD.

My control PC is a plain jane 6 year old windows 7 stripped down motherboard onboard video with 6 or 8Gig of ram. No network card no antivirus. If it will boot up its pretty much good enough for a control box.
