I'm trying to add text to a cross and I want it to fill the whole cross but I seem to only get it to fill vertically and not the two wings horizontally does this make sense and what am I doing wrong?

How are you trying to fit the text?

To fill the whole inside of the cross.

They used Cooper Black in the tutorial....I'm out.

I took a few moments to try and solve this.

I think you will have to create three text blocks one for the top of the vertical bar , one for the bottom of the vertical bar, one for the horizontal bar.

I thought I might be able to use nesting without rotation but could not make it work.

In this example I centered the text and added breaks manually. I don't know of an automated way to do it. :(

That's what I ended up doing and I was hoping there was a easier way.
Thanks

Just a thought, I have no idea what software you are using, but most of the CNC software I've seen is really weak when it comes to dealing with text.

I'd make this in a good vector drawing program such as Illustrator then send it as a dxf. to make tool paths.

I could probably do this in 5 minutes if you send me the dimensions and wording.

There's a few fonts no designer worth his salt ever uses...and Cooper Black is in the top 5 on that list.

Great video to rewatch Scott. I picked up on a couple of tricks in watching it again.

There's a chance you may need help with technique or the technology too one day. ;)
