Got my cabinet boxes made, and face frames. So my door openings are now 12wX25.3750h on 4 doorsframes and two other doorframes are 17wX25.3750h
Measuring my cabinets upstairs for reference they have a .5 dado around the edges where the center of the door is inset into the frame. I don't want to do that, i want a simple door that sits flat on the faceframe, however I do like the type of hinge but don't need that extra bend in it as you see.
So my questions are...how much overhang should i have on the doors to cover the doorframe, in other words how much larger should i make each door? And should i make that "extra" on 3 sides only due to hinge placement?
Also what is the name of this hinge and does it come in a version for a flat (not inset) door?
Also since i am making a carved door front, i am going to carve down into the door and make it a carved out square, the results looking like a carving inset into a rail and stile door.
My question is what width should i make the rails and stiles?
