plenum sealer

Anyone have specific suggestions for a plenum sealer? I am using MDF. It would be great if it was cheap, fast drying, and available locally in Boston. I see recommendations for using polyurethane (but NOT for a specific brand/type). I would also like to avoid waiting a number of hours between coats.

Bullseye shellac in a spray can. 3 coats is what I put on. Most of the borg stores carry it.
