Seems kind of dead there. Or am I missing something?

Also if I "ask a question" does the person get an Email or do they have to check in to see it?

There is a steady trickle in there.
The biggest issues I have run into:

1-Bid requests that have so little detail, you can't make an estimate. ("I want this table, and it looks like a shark, and the legs are really cool, and it has glass, or crystal, and this awesome stuff I saw once, how much would that cost?")

2-A lot of bid requests wanting CNC/Design work for the price of a day laborer. ("can you machine a 3-sided, 36 part cut out of exotic wood @$46/bf available from one supplier on the moon, with 8 different specialty bits, that we know will take four hours of machining for $40?")

3-A small number of bid requests wanting work that doesn't require CNC at all. ("I need one hole drilled in this 2x4, it has to be done with a CNC!")

4-Something is wonky in the interface there: I've had 4 or 5 people from bids I submitted email me saying that they couldn't see the bid/questions I had posted, and had found it easier to email me directly.

It seems the bid requests that are well written and reasonable are always far away from my shop...

I will keep my eye on it and see where it goes.

I would hope it sends an email to the potential customer.
